Do not come anywhere near our house....unless you want to get violently ill.

GROSS is all I can say about yesterday and today. After taking Isabel and Logan to to doctor yesterday for pink eye we were back there again this afternoon for a little dehydration check due to all of the GI issues. It smells BAD in our house. The washing machine has been going non stop. Brian came home from work at 11:30am after almost not making it to the bathroom to puke. At least it was puke and not the other lovely GI issue. Both kids seem to still be hydrated, but Isabel and Logan have severe ear infections. This means antibiotics and more gross poo. Sweet! I 'just' have fever and chills and terrible muscle aches. WTF. I thought maybe I could power through and make it to my 5pm dental appointment, but I had Brian call on our way to the pedi's office to cancel. They don't even know what kind of favor I just did for them.

Puking and overall sickies

Ugh, I hate when the kids are sick. Both Logan and Isabel have cold and it looks like they might have some sort of eye infection too. Yuck. This morning during breakfast Izzy decided to show me that she can puke like a big girl and yacked all over her booster seat. She just wanted to color for breakfast, so she just had crayons that took the brunt of her gross vomit. It was the first 'real' vomit, so she was a little pissed that this interfered with her morning waffles. She seemed totally fine after getting cleaned up, so I gave her a couple of clean waffles and she powered through. We hit up the park and Target and she was acting completely normal. We got home and she didn't want to eat much lunch, so I offered her some blackberries. Big mistake. Huge. I saw those blackberries in the form of what looked like a scene out of CSI 20 minutes into her afternoon nap. GRRRROOOOSSSS!!!!! All over the mattress, sheets, crib, bumpers, dust ruffles and carpet. Ewww! The saddest part of all was that she kept saying. 'Momma.' 'uh oh.' Like she was sorry she puked. Poor thing. She seemed ok after all the drama and has been ok (knock on wood) tonight.

If the eyes aren't cleared up tomorrow I'm going to call the pedi's office. Logan looks like he's giving you the stink eye all the time. Poor thing.

So Big! Stairs and Sentences

Logan now realizes that everyone gets really excited when he started doing the 'so big' routine with Isabel. He gets a kick out of it and sometimes does it with such fury that he falls over backwards. He throws those arms up! He's also mastered the art of climbing up the stairs. He's FAST. I'm not sure how he does it so quickly. The annoying gate at the bottom of the stairs is back. He does not like it.

Isabel loves to talk about her day in little sentences. It's pretty funny and cute. I'm sure I'm the only person who understands her, and sometimes I'm not sure what she's saying. Yesterday we were out swinging and I told her I was going to get a bag to pick up Tank's poop. I came back out and told her we were out of bags so she says "Dog poop. Tank. Bags. All gone." While she said 'all gone' she flipped both of her palms up like "I don't know what we're going to do now." When Brian got home she ran to say hi but stopped short when she got to the edge of the swing set and said. "Poop. Tank." Brian asked her where the poop was and she pointed all over the yard. It was pretty amusing. Brian also told her that wasps will sting her and lightly pinched her hand to get the point across. Well, she took him very seriously and didn't want to go swing for 2 days because the 'wasp. sting' while pointing to her hand. Now when I see a pesky wasp all I have to do is say 'wasp, let's go to the back door.' and she runs over there. Tomorrow is western wear day at preschool. I'll see if Isabel will wear a cowgirl hat.

Boo, No Peanuts

I finally called to get the results of Isabel's IgE blood test. Her peanut reactivity was 8.14. A positive result is >0.35. So, she has a severe peanut allergy. The other tree nuts that they tested all came back positive, but with ranges between 0.41-0.65. Much much less severe. Guess we will always have to have the epi pen nearby. Our house is a complete 'nut-free zone.' Boo. I will miss you peanut butter.

Milkshake

We went to the outlets in San Marcos last weekend. Well, actually we went to Johnny Rockets. We planning on doing some shopping, but Isabel and Logan had other ideas. Nothing like driving 30 miles to get semi-crappy food. Isabel got a kids milk that came with a cup, lid and fun straw. After ordering Brian asked her if she would like to try a milkshake. She got very excited and started shaking her milk. We were laughing so hard we couldn't tell her to stop. After getting ourselves together we put her milk in her sippy cup in case she decided to try a milk shake again. ps-She really really loved the oreo milkshake.

March and Routines

It's March and time for another picture to send off to The Africas and Aunt Jenn. Don't be fooled, Logan is about 2 seconds away from falling off the frog.

I thought I would put down what my daily routine is like. There was a section like this in Vivian's baby book that I completely left blank and wish I had filled it in. So, Monday, Wednesday and Friday I do 4-5 loads of laundry each day. Every day I get up at 4:45am, nurse Logan, hit the gym, come home, get coffee, shower and get ready for the day, pack Isabel's lunch for school and then get Izzy and Logan up by 8am if they're not already up. Since it's been lighter out these days they're both usually up around 7:30am. Boo. I miss the 8:30am sleeping in. We leave for school at 8:40am and I get back with Logan around 9:10am. We play and I clean up breakfast until Logan goes down for a nap around 10 or 11am. Logan normally naps for around 45 minutes to an hour in the morning so I'm usually running around doing laundry or cleaning. I mean literally running. He gets up around noon and we catch up on Jersey Shore play some more. We leave to pick Isabel up at 1:30pm and get back around 2 or 2:15pm. I give Isabel a snack and milk and she play some and then I try to put them both down for naps around 2:30 or 2:45pm. Then I RUN upstairs to try and take a nap myself. I've found if I don't get a tiny cat nap in the afternoons I almost can't make it until bedtime. It's tough. Logan is almost always up at 4pm and we play and I try and fold laundry and clean until Isabel is up around 5pm. Then it's a madhouse trying to get dinner going. Sometimes I make it, sometimes it's Lean Cuisine. It all depends on how many tantrums I've had to listen to that day. On Tuesday and Thursday instead of dropping Isabel off at school I got to the grocery store or run other errands that I need to. I try to limit the shopping to one store a day otherwise it's meltdown city and people looking at me with evil eyes. Sometimes this happens when we hit just one store. It all depends on how wrinkled Isabel and Logan's sheets were the night before. It may seem boring, but it's a lot of fun and we laugh lots. It is also very hard work. Isabel has reached an incredibly cute phase. She's talking much more and says 'wow, nnneeat!' when she's really excited about something. Today the object of her affection was her kung fu panda that she had to take to school.

While I was picking Isabel up today a women stopped me and asked if I was Isabel's mom. Never a good sign. Anyway, she asked if we could get together with just us and our daughters. (um, ok). I must have given her a 'what the eff are you talking about' look because she then said 'I keep wanting to contact you after each incident, but I haven't yet.' The light goes on in my head that Isabel must be biting her daughter. Awesome. She lives in Driftwood (bfe) and wants to get together at a park or something. I guess she's going to judge how I discipline Izzy and scorn me appropriately? Kidding. I know that's not the intent, but it feels that way. I had no idea that Isabel was just biting this one girl. I thought it was equal opportunity munching. It's also very clear in the handbook that they don't rat out the biter at her school so she/he doesn't become a social pariah. So wtf? I don't go to the park by myself with both kids because Logan can't walk and is putting everything in his mouth and Isabel doesn't know that she can't walk or jump off of 5 feet landings yet. A visit to the park involves me putting Logan in a carrier and running after Isabel with 20lbs of baby strapped to me. I can't imagine having to walk 2 inches behind Isabel with Logan trying to make sure she doesn't take a chunk out of this kids arm or face every 3 seconds. That sounds way too exhausting. I would be more ok with this if this mom came to me earlier (like oh, say in OCTOBER, when this started) and not when Isabel has been doing better and we only have 2.5 months of school left. Should be loads of fun.
