What do you do with all of your free time now?

I've been getting this question all the time.  I guess having approximately 3.5 hours twice a week is a lot of free time?  Hey, I'll take even 30 minutes, but it's not that much free time.  It does feel great to get a break after almost 4 years of taking care of a little one all day every day.  Here's what I did today.  Drop off took about 30 minutes.  Logan has figured out that if he takes 20 minutes to potty before I leave that it delays my departure.  I got home from drop off around 9:45am, jumped on the treadmill and did a little over 5 miles.  I did some online banking and hit the shower.  After the shower I had breakfast and checked email/facebooked for about 10-15 minutes.  I then tackled my closet.  I emptied 3 large trash bags of clothes and 1 large bag of trash.  I loaded up the clothes and took them to Goodwill.  After Goodwill I had 30 minutes to race around the grocery store before pick up.  Yep, that was it.  Don't get me wrong, I've been anxious to get the closet slaying done for weeks, so I'm so so glad it finally got done.  Now I just have 5 more closets to take care of.  I thought I would really enjoy not setting my alarm for 4:35am to workout on Tuesday/Thursday, but I realized that I think I would rather have the time I 'wasted' on the treadmill while the kids are at school back to do other things.  Well, maybe not.  I didn't get to bed until well after midnight last night and the thought of a pre 5am wakeup call was pretty gross.  I had craft night with MOMS club last night and you know how us (wannabe) craftly moms can get.

We finally got our replacement dishwasher installed yesterday.  *slow clap*

Tomorrow Logan has his appointment with the allergist to hopefully do a peanut skin test.  I took him in for bloodwork about 2 weeks ago so hopefully that was ok and we can actually do the skin test.  I really really really hope he doesn't have a nut allergy.  He's been doing awesome with potty training at school, but it seems like he likes to take big craps in his pants for me.  Blech.

Logan was supposed to have picture today and Izzy was having hers on Thursday.  Apparently they're going to do them both Thursday.  I'm excited about that!  Hopefully they'll be cute!  So nice that they can do them together.  Isabel and Logan accidentally coordinated today, so I'm going to put them in the exact same outfits on Thursday for pictures.  Logan looked super cute.  Of course I had to change him with his daily pants-pooping, so I didn't get any pictures of them.  Here they are in completely different outfits from what they wore to school.  Still cute though!

Oh, I also put Isabel in her stockings up and the ghost. He didn't last too long.

Weekend in a nutshell

Saturday I worked out, cleaned, cooked and we had friends over. We watched the Aggies come thisclose to beating Florida. Today we went to Home Depit to get bumpers for the cabinets and Homegoods for 4 seconds before Logan freaked out. We ate at chipotle and came hone. I went to Michaels to get some stuff for this pinterest inspired ghost and stuff for the mantle. Exciting times, I know.

They kept wanting to play with my hair. We couldn't get a good shot of them at all!

It's Friday Friday!

Nothing new to report today. Logan has been doing great with potty training except he has this strange thing where he likes to have massive nasty poops in his booster seat while eating. Wednesday it was so unbelievably gross and he was down and running around before I realized what happened and there was poop flying out of his shorts as he ran around the house. Then tank started eating it. I almost puked. I put him in the shower and hosed him off. Same thing happened today except I caught on yo his game and managed to minimize the grossness to the booster and shower.

We had swim lessons this morning and izzy was the only student. Yay for private lessons, but apparently the only other kid enrolled switched classes and now we have to find another time. Nothing else works for us, so they're going to try and recruit some people to switch into her class. Isabel has made so much progress that I would hate for her to stop classes. Today she floated on her back independently for the entire ABC song!

Tomorrow is the first Aggie game of the season! Woohoo! So excited. I will try to post a video of Logan saying Gig 'em Aggies! It is the cutest thing ever. Oh, we're having friends over tomorrow too. Yay!

Some pictures with my short little napper while his sister still sleeps.

Cabinet redo

I updated the cabinets in the kids and guest bathrooms. I think they look much better although I got tired of doing it and it shows, especially in the kid's bathroom. I need to do some retouching, but I needed a break. Next up will be the master bath and I'll use what I learned this time around on it.

Izzy has had a random 3 day fever that finally broke yesterday morning. Here's a picture of her at walmart (the 2nd trip this year. I'm slipping) in her jammies.

First Day of School and Labor Day

ARRRRGGGGG!!!!! I have written this post two freaking times and both times it was deleted. The first time it was my own stupid fault, but the last time it just disappeared. I'll do an abbreviated version one.more.time.

I just realized after I finally got this post published that the pictures are all out of order, unlabeled and generally screwed up. I'll try to remember to fix it later.

Logan and Isabel both had their first week of preschool last week. Long story short, Isabel did fantastic and so did Logan. Logan just went for 2 hours the first day and then the full 4.5 hours on Thursday. No accidents!!!!

Today Logan had a tough day. He cried a lot at drop off and Ms. Frankie, his teacher, said he was pretty unhappy today and had an especially tough time with transitions. He didn't have any accidents though, so gold star for him. When he got home he was super grumpy and wouldn't let me leave his sight. I had to go to the bathroom holding him. Fun! No really FUN! When Brian got home he freaked out and started hysterically crying when Brian tried to take him upstairs to play so that I could finish dinner. Awesome!

Izzy is sick. She has another fever and is generally just not feeling good. :-( Poor thing. She had a pretty good day, but I could definitely tell when her tylenol started to wear off and her fever came back. Poor thing. I really hope she's better tomorrow. We did have a fun day today hanging out just the two of us for the first time since Logan was born. I think she got a kick out of our time together and was really trying to make the most of it even though she was feeling crappy. I learned all about her Spanish songs and her friends at school and how she really misses her friends that aren't in her class anymore. Too cute.

Labor Day we headed over to Houston to hit the beach. Isabel and Logan both loved it. Logan REALLY loved the water. We did some shopping (thanks Grandma and Grandpa) and tried on Isabel's Halloween costume. She is the cutest Glinda the Good Witch ever! Grandma really really outdid herself this year. It is amazing. Really. I want one.

6 hour hair appointment

How is it the end of the weekend already?! Spending 6 hours (yes HOURS) at the Aveda Institute getting my hair done will sort of suck the weekend away. I was trying to save a few bucks by going to the beauty school, but OMG, 6 hours. Spending time with my family is worth more than saving a few $. I said never again the last time I did it, but I'll say it again. NEVER AGAIN! The color isn't that great either. It was a lose/lose.

At least I got to go to a birthday party for one of Isabel's friends and have her have an accident all over an electronic toy. She hasn't had an accident in like 6 months so I didn't even have a spare set of clothes. The toy still worked and she didn't get too upset, so all was good. We got to borrow some cute shorts from her little friend. He was a gracious host.

Today we got supplies for me to redo the kids and guest room bath vanities. If we like how it looks we'll do the master bath and then maybe the kitchen. I really hope it looks good and is a 1 person job. After Home Depot we went to the lake and had lunch.

Open House and Advanced Aquatot

We had Isabel and Logan's open house yesterday. Despite being right in the middle of nap time it went ok. Isabel played for a couple of minutes in her new room. It's a lot bigger than her 2 year old room and connects to the other 3 year old classroom via a hallway and bathrooms. I didn't get the best picture of her room, but here is one with her and Logan playing.

Logan spent some time in his class too. He did ok. He had the most pathetic cry when the assistant teacher tried to talk to him. It reminded me of what Fargo does when you put clothes on him. He just froze and then the years started. Luckily they didn't last long, but returned when his teacher said 'no' about something. Sensitive would be an understatement. He did use the potty while we were there, so that was good.

Today Isabel had her final swim lesson of the semester (she starts next session next week). She did great and swam around 20 feet!!! After her nap she told me she had a dream that she raced Princess Ariel in the pool. :)
